BENEFITS FOR LOCAL FOOD PRODUCERS

Brecon Farmers Market* provides a high quality, traditional indoor market in which small scale local producers and growers can sell fresh, wholesome and quality produce direct to the public.

Selling food locally reduces food miles, results in fairer profits by cutting out the middleman or trader, and gives producers the opportunity to talk directly to their customers and find out exactly what they want. It also provides additional opportunities to sell by mail order or online.

HOW IS THE MARKET FUNDED?

The market receives generous funding from the Sustainability Development Fund, which is administered by the Community Development Team at Brecon Beacons National Park offices, also the Esmee Fairburn Foundation.
